Today I have my first one-on-one meeting with my first boss at AMGEN!! It was scheduled to be at 2:15pm in the afternoon. In the morning he sends me an update saying 10:15am to 11:00am in the meeting time. I prep up, real fast and wonder why my outlook calendar isn't showing up the meeting reminder!F*** Outlook! Nothing ever works for me properly anyways! So I rush to the restroom, fix my hair,...once...twice....smell my breath.. all good! Let's go... i reach his office building 15 minutes early....and knock on his door 2 minutes before the updated meeting time.
Knock-Knock
H2(my manager): C'mon In!
"Ohh, Les Bowman is in there, for a meeting!!"
H2: Are you next Simi?
And I nod!
H2: hmmm.. then why doesn't my Outlook say so!
Me: You sent me an update!
H2: Ohh.. that! That is for 2 weeks from now!! You are really early! Really Really early! For today, we meet at 2:15pm!
Me: Ohh.. I was just going to the main building!
H2: Well thanks for dropping by!Its always good to see you.
Me: Sorry for disturbing though!! Bye!
And I rush back to my secluded abode! Or if it really is that secluded! Bah!!
Lesson: Me and my over caution ruin the day! Be yourself! Too much emotion never pays well!
